This collection speaks to the working men in the city.
Clean cut, dress nice, smooth hair, and a smile to die to for. Japanese brand SHIPS presents there S/S 2010 lookbook. They give you suits, knits, and the blazers for the broad shoulders. I love the whole look. Exactly what I want to see my man in ... Know any? Send them my way ;)

SNEAK PEAK: MADEWELL

Madewell gave a peek at "Alexa Chung" for Madewell collection two months ago. Where the hell was I? The pieces shown so far are clean cut "American" style. Classics are appealing however, I suspect there should be at least one "wow" factor. Madewell hasn't given all the goods yet, but I'm  anticipating the entire collection.

FASHION FOR THOUGHT

Early February I did a post titled Style Remains, giving my quick opinion on the idea
of fashion and its "evolution". I received some pretty great feedback from the post so I decided to post it in the LoS fashion forum and the feedback was crazy. I opened up a spectrum for some to view
fashion in a way they previously had never thought about. With 457 views for the post, I'm thinking  if it  intrigues that many people than why not elaborate on the topic, combining the feedback I received as well. This is one of the pieces I will be working on for my writing portfolio, but also as a "eye opener" for others to get insight. Depending on how long it is, I'll post it for review.

TEAM SPIRIT

I found this editorial clever. I love how all the latest spring 2010 trends
are incorporated in the shoot, yet it's not the traditional "these are the spring trends" layout.

STYLE;DESIGN;COLLECT

Rachel Zoe keeps me anticipating more.I'm unaware of what factor plays
a role into my curiosity, but she's a silent killer. Taking a somewhat
different approach to what we've known of Zoe, she's recently designed a collection for QVC.
Randomly searching the web, I ran across this video dishing the goods of the collection and
why Rachel chose each piece specifically. This video gives a look into not only Zoe the stylist,
but Zoe the designer as well.

LABELSxLOVE='s SJP

Do I really need to emphasize how SJP (Sarah Jessica Parker) plays such a major role in my life? Her character, Carrie Bradshaw, is the epitome of all things divine in a woman's world.

YES, I'm anticipating SATC2!! I seen the extended trailer (more than once) and I got a
warm feeling each time. I also love how Anna made her Vogue's May cover which is the same month of the movie release.(brilliant Anna)

From her real life as SJP to the character Carrie Bradshaw, she has really grown into a style icon.

Here's the behind the scenes Vogue video and extended trailer.

SPECIAL DELIVERY

Anna (not Wintour) sent me a package of advanced reading copies. I love when it's a new season of fashion books. I get great reading material for the days I'm in my boring ass economics class, not paying attention to "supply and demand".

This time around, I received three books for blog review including "101 things I learned In Fashion School".

THE ART OF BLACK AND WHITE

The detailing and vision conveyed through these designs are amazing.
London based designer Samantha Cole sent me a message and once I begin browsing her work, I was honestly speechless. There's nothing "safe" about her approach which
intrigues me even more.

PATTERNED ILLUSIONS

Designer Kate Szegedi takes an interesting approach with her S/S 2010 collection.

What really intrigues me is the cut out of different shapes. She really used this aspect of her designs to her advantage, creating pattern illusions. It always amazes me how the smallest of details can heavily impact the outcome.

DANISH THOUGHTS

The blogger influence continues to get younger, with the addition of 15 year old Nicklas Skovgaard. The danish blogger files all inspirations and fashion fixtures, opinions on fashion shows, custom garments, and captured photos reflecting his own personal style.

I love how the younger generation find a means to express their personal opinions on fashion but why are they looked at as "irrelevant"?

I believe having a younger influence not only makes it more interesting, but keeps a fresh observation in the mix.

PSYCHEDELIC PATTERNS

Andre Lima spring/summer 2010 collection.

Do I really need to express how much I love the psychedelic patterns and prints?Definitely a few spring grabs for those "sicker than your average". I also love the two color/solid color head pieces. Lima not only showed personality in this collection, but who he is as a designer....

COLOR ME 60's

How long ago did I predict a 60's mod takeover(months ago bitch)?
I was curious to see how designers would modernize the era, making it what they feel, more "appealing".

Bright colors paired with short hemlines and "plastic", really added spark to the spring runways.

What sparked this post was an article I read from Elle magazine. They go through the specifics of how Miuccia Prada, Donatella Versace, and Zac Posen used a 60's influence in their spring 2010 collections.  I specifically loved how the end of the article gave advice to people considering the 60's look.
"If you are going for the look, go all out. People will gawk, laugh, and twitter, but you will knock ’em dead. “Plastics, baby, plastics!” This is one time when there is never too much of a good thing."
